Kaleb's 1st day of Preschool

Today was Kaleb's first day of Preschool, and even though it is only Tuesday and Thursday from 9-12 it is still a little hard to leave him. I know that sometimes I get frustrated but I just love being around him all the time. He loves preschool though, he got to use scissors on his first day. They colored and sang songs and played on the computer. He has met some new friends and had a great day. I am so sad to think that next year my baby will be in Kindergarten and going to real school. It is good time for me to spend quality time with Addison since she has never gotten to be the only child and I enjoy that a lot. I know he will be great! He works really hard at everything he does and he tries all the time. He is growing up so fast look at this handsome boy!
Addison had to sneak into at least one!

Addison's 1st birthday party

Today we celebrated Addison's 1st birthday! The theme was "a" and everything started with a's from ants on a log to animal crackers.
Leah, a good friend of mine, and I made the cake which took 3 full hours but it was so special to make her cake and it turned out super cute, especially for my first time!
The boys tried to raid the party but we didn't let them have all the fun!!
Not many 1 year olds have "friends" but Addison has three that are close in age, Brooke, Collin and Becca Joy. We were all so blessed last year to have them all within 6 months of each other, it is going to be fun in the years to come to see them grow up together! Addison had tons of family come as well, from great grandparents to little cousings. She had plenty of people to entertain and I think she did a good job if I do say so myself.
Once it was time for the smash cake she dug in.She loved it!

Then we got her all cleaned up from that mess and decided to open some presents.

She loved all the toys but most of all she liked the clothes that she got! I think we are going to have a problem when she grows up. She would grab those clothes out of the bag and not want to put them down to open more presents it was the cutest thing ever! Hope Daddy has a hold on his pocket book!!

I am so grateful for my 2 blessings from God and I can't wait to throw more parties for each of them!!

August 19, 2010

Well it is official today Addison turned 1! She is a vibrant, funny and very strong willed little girl. Her smile brightens our day and there is never a dull moment with her around. Today is her 1st birthday and I wanted to start the day out special for her. She woke up wanted to brush her teeth and she did.

The we let her have her first donut with her very first candle and we sang "Happy Birthday" to her. Kaleb and her both got donuts to eat that morning.

Later that day we let her open her presents from her Nanaw and her Uncle Steve and Aunt Dawn, bubba had to help a little bit but with team work they opened the presents together.

Happy Birthday Addi Grace we are so blessed to have you as a daughter and sister!

Addison

As I sit here making decorations for Addison's 1st birthday I can't help but look back at a year and remember walking around the neighborhood trying to go into labor. I remember not being able to sleep and finally when I did fall asleep the alarm went off to go to the hospital. Kaleb stayed with his cousin Logan that night and I just couldn't wait to meet this little blessing God had entrusted me with.

The delivery was fairly easy considering I didn't have any drugs. Addison came into this world at 11:57 am on August 19 weighing in at a whopping 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 18 1/2 in. long. I could not believe that God had given me a girl, considering I was the only one out of my friends who really didn't think having a girl would be a good thing. Let me tell you something she has been the biggest blessing and addition to my life. She can brighten a day with her sweet little giggle and her smile shines for everyone around. She has softened my heart and allowed me to get over many things that needed to be defeated. I feel like she wasn't a baby very long because she started crawling at 5 months, talking at 6 months and then walking at 9 months. God definitely knew what he was doing when he sent us Addi.

Kaleb is such a great big brother from carrying her around the house, to finding her pacifier if needed and taking her for rides on his John Deere Tractor. Branden and I have been so blessed; although at times they may test us we could not be more proud of our children. We know that God has miraculous plans for them and we can't wait to see them walk them out through Him. Thank you Lord for entrusting us with these precious jewels may we bring them up in accordance to your ways!

My 1 year old Big Girl

It is two days before Addison's first birthday and my photographer for her 1 year pictures went into labor and had her baby a little early. So I decided that I might try some photography on my own and this is what I came up with. I think I did a fairly decent job considering I am not a professional!

Addison Loves Teeth

Well if we didn't know it already, our daughter is super smart. This morning I asked Kaleb to go brush his teeth, and he went as usual. I went in there to check on him and who did I find but yes Miss Addison right along next to big brother brushing her teeth as well.

She has always been fascinated with teeth, but this was absolutely hilarious and proves that she really is watching Kaleb and learning the things that he does. Now, we have to keep the bathroom door closed, or she will be in there trying out every tooth brush in the drawer! Days like these make me thank God even more for the blessings he has given me. They always seem to amaze me!!

The Blogging World

Well, many of my friends have blogs and I really enjoy reading and following and seeing their lives change so I thought why not make one for my family that we can always look back at and enjoy! I am very new to this and not quite sure how often I will be updating and things like that but I would love for everyone to see Kaleb and Addison as they grow and learn! This is short I am still trying to figure it out but I hope you enjoy!

We are striving for the Kingdom of God and while we are on this Earth we will be his soldiers!
